Engagement Luncheon

About a couple of months ago, we hosted an engagement luncheon for one of our co-workers. She's planning a Fall wedding for 2012, so we decided to throw a fall themed luncheon.

The luncheon was informal as it was held in one of the employee lounges at work, during our 1 hour long lunch break. Decorations had to be easy and minimal. The photo above was created with card stock that we cut-out by hand. The letters represent the first name initial of the engaged couple; Marisa ♥ Eugene.

The above pictures are of the table where everyone sat. We wanted it to be family style so we combined the tables together.  The centerpieces were hand-made and everyone loved them and wanted to take them back to their offices.

On the menu was Mixed Veggie Crudité with home-made Ranch dressing, Waldorf Chicken Salad, Broccoli Salad, and Croissants.  For Dessert, we had Dark Chocolate Cupcakes w/ganache filling, topped with Swiss Buttercream and Mini Fruit Tartlets.

The decorations for the cupcakes were made out of fondant and made to look like the cardstock decoration. If you look closely, you’ll see “m e” pressed into the white fondant.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food. We both enjoyed putting this together, it's always fun planning little parties or get-togethers.

Most importantly, Marisa was very well pleased with the outcome as she really did not know what to expect; she was pleasantly surprised.
